Ebram's serology range offers reliable reagents, guaranteeing fast and accurate results for various clinical conditions, such as rheumatic, autoimmune and infectious diseases. They are screening tests, carried out manually using the agglutination methodology.
Our reagents offer intense and homogeneous antigen-antibody reactions, providing clear, precise and easy-to-interpret results. Positivity is characterized by cohesive, well-defined clumps with no room for doubt. The reagents ASO, PCR, FR e LES have latex particles, which enhance the sensitivity and visibility of the reaction. The FR Waaler Rose, Widal and Brucellosis reagents, even without the use of latex, maintain the same standard of quality and performance, ensuring reliability in all applications.
For the most in-demand kits - such as ASO Latex, FR Latex e PCR Latex - we offer a different presentation, consisting only of the reagent bottle, without controls or accessories. Designed for laboratories looking to optimize costs, this option allows them to use the controls and accessories such as pvc plates and spatulas from a complete kit for several reagent bottles, avoiding the waste that is common when purchasing a complete kit. At a significantly lower cost, this practical and efficient solution maintains the quality of the tests and adapts perfectly to routines with a higher volume of analysis.
The main characteristics of the tests and technical differentials make the range a strategic choice for laboratories.
Technical methodology of Ebram serology tests
Most of the line's tests use manual direct agglutination, with the possibility of qualitative and semi-quantitative analysis. The FR Waaler Rose follows a different principle - hemagglutination, which uses sensitized red blood cells to detect rheumatoid factor. The procedure for all tests consists of adding the reagent to a PVC plate, adding the sample, homogenizing and visually reading the result.
Interpretation of results:
Important: As these are manual tests, it is essential to strictly follow the instructions for use, especially the volumes used, reading times and how the sample and reagent are homogenized.
Ebram Serology Line Division
The range is divided into three diagnostic profiles, with ready-to-use reagents and standardized methodologies to guarantee practicality and precision:
Diagnostic Profile | Available tests | Clinical Objective |
Rheumatic | ASO Latex, FR Latex, PCR Latex and FR Waaler Rose | Identification of inflammatory processes |
Autoimmune | LES Latex | Identification of antinuclear antibodies associated with lupus (SLE) |
Febrile illnesses | Brucellosis and Widal (A, B, O, H) | Diagnosis of bacterial infections: typhoid, paratyphoid and brucellosis |
Operational and economic advantages for the laboratory
Technical Differential | Practical Benefit |
Reagents with quality latex particles | Visible reactions, with cohesive and clear lumps, with no room for doubt in the reading |
No equipment required | Ideal for screening tests |
Quick read tests (up to 2 minutes) | Reduced TAT and faster service, ideal for screening tests. |
Low cost and high precision | Reducing costs without compromising the quality of the result |
Validated tests with different volumes | Flexible yield: 50 to 100 tests per kit, depending on the volume used |
Complete kit or reagent only options (Aso Latex, FR Latex and PCR Latex) | Enables control and reduces costs |
Differences between FR Latex and FR Waaler Rose
Although both tests are used to detect rheumatoid factor, there are differences in sensitivity, specificity and applicability:
Two reagents, one goal: to detect rheumatoid factor with precision
Both the Latex RF and the Waaler Rose RF are indicated to detect the presence of rheumatoid factor in concentrations suggestive of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The difference lies in the application:
More options to ensure safe diagnoses in different clinical contexts.
Care when handling reagents
The Ebram Serology range combines practicality, quality and cost-effectiveness, with highly reactive reagents, fast results and reliable methodology. In addition, the kits offer adjustable yields depending on the volume used in each test. Validated for reactions with 40 μL or 20 μL, they allow up to 100 tests per kit to adapt use to the laboratory's routine without compromising performance. Ideal for laboratories wishing to perform the test in-house, without relying on equipment or a support laboratory.
The products in the range are produced and carefully tested by Ebram, guaranteeing compliance with quality standards, precision and cost competitiveness in order to meet the needs of the market.
