Turbidimetry is a quantitative technique used to measure the concentration of antigens or antibodies through the opacity of a solution, i.e. the greater the quantity of these particles present in the sample, the greater the opacity of the solution, indicating greater turbidity and, consequently, a higher detected concentration.
Ebram's Turbidimetry Line portfolio includes the following products ASO - Anti-streptolysin O, Vitamin Dand two kits for dosing CRP - C-Reactive Proteinone of which is for conventional CRP dosing and the other specifically for CRP dosing. PCR-us (Ultrasensitive PCR)which, despite dosing the same analyte, are used for different purposes.
CRP is a protein that acts in the immune system by mediating inflammatory responses. Under normal conditions, the levels of CRP present in the human body are low, but increase significantly during inflammatory and infectious states.
As well as playing an essential role in fighting infections and regulating inflammation, CRP has become an important marker in various clinical conditions, especially in assessing cardiovascular risk. The development of the Ultrasensitive CRP (US-CRP) test makes it possible to detect extremely low levels of this protein, offering a valuable tool for the prediction and management of cardiovascular diseases.
CRP levels in the human body vary according to the severity of the inflammation. Mild inflammation or general infections usually raise CRP to 10-40 mg/L, while more severe inflammation or bacterial infections can raise levels to 40-200 mg/L. The conventional Turb-PCR kit has a sensitivity of 1 mg/L and linearity of up to 150 mg/L, making it suitable for diagnosing these inflammatory processes in general.
While the Ultrasensitive CRP test is used to identify subclinical inflammation such as atherosclerosis, a low-grade inflammatory condition that is not detectable by conventional methods, the Ultrasensitive Turb-PCR kit is capable of measuring extremely low concentrations of CRP in the blood, with sensitivity to detect from 0.06 mg/L. This technique has important clinical relevance, not only helping in the initial assessment of the risk of future coronary events, but it is also fundamental in the monitoring and ongoing management of cardiovascular health.
Both the Turb-PCR kit and the Ultrasensitive Turb-PCR kit are reagents that use the latex turbidimetry methodology, a fast, precise, safe and highly specific technique.
Among their differentials, we can also list the fact that they use a lower-cost technology due to the low reagent consumption, as well as the fact that the calibration process is simplified by using only one calibrator, generating a stable calibration curve.
Ebram offers these two PCR dosage kits and a complete technical-scientific service, provided by experts, so that distributors and laboratories have all the support they need.
Code 1001
R1 = 1x40mL + R2 = 1x10mL + PD = 1x1mL
Code 1044
R1 = 1x40mL + R2 = 1x10mL + PD = 1x5mL
