Cardiac Profile: The Importance of Accurate Diagnosis for Heart Health

World Heart Day is celebrated on September 29th with the aim of raising awareness about the risks of cardiovascular disease and promoting heart health.

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. In Brazil, according to data from the Brazilian Society of Cardiology, more than a thousand people die every day as a result of these diseases, which include conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, heart failure and arrhythmias. These are a group of diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels, such as coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral arterial disease, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Heart attacks and strokes, for example, occur when there is a build-up of fat on the inner walls of the vessels, favoring the formation of clots or hemorrhages that block the flow of blood to vital organs.

These diseases compromise quality of life and are strongly associated with risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, smoking, a sedentary lifestyle, excessive alcohol consumption and poor diet.

Early diagnosis is therefore essential to reduce complications and increase the chances of treatment.

With this in mind, Ebram provides reagents for cardiac profile assessment, offering products that help identify, monitor and prevent cardiovascular diseases:

  • KIMINAC - CKNAC

Line: Biochemistry

Methodology: UV

Presentation: Code 3041 - Reagent 1 (4×10 mL) + Reagent 2 (2×5 mL) | Code 13049 - Reagent 1 (1×100 mL) + Reagent 2 (1×25 mL).

ApplicationCreatine kinase is an enzyme found in cardiac, cerebral and skeletal muscle. Its increase can occur in different muscle conditions, and it is not specific to the heart and should be analyzed in conjunction with other markers, such as CK-MB.

  • CHEMIMB - CK-MB:

Line: Biochemistry

Methodology: Immunoinhibition

Presentation: Code 3042 - Reagent 1 (4×10 mL) + Reagent 2 (2×5 mL) + Control Serum (1×1.0 mL) | Code 13050 - Reagent 1 (1×100 mL) + Reagent 2 (1×25 mL) + Control Serum (1×1.0mL).

Application: The most specific marker for cardiac tissue, widely used to identify acute myocardial infarction and monitor its progress. It is usually interpreted together with Total CK for better diagnostic accuracy.

  • Troponin I:

Line: Quick Tests

Methodology: Immunochromatography

Presentation: Code 818 - 25 test devices, with a sensitivity of 0.5ng/mL.

Application: highly specific protein of the heart muscle, considered the gold standard in the diagnosis of infarction. Elevations in its levels confirm myocardial damage.

  • Ultrasensitive PCR:

Line: Turbidimetry

Methodology: Immunoturbidimetry

Presentation: Code 1044 - Reagent 1 (1×40 mL) + Reagent 2 (1×10 mL) + Standard (1×5.0 mL). For quality control, we offer Protein Control Serum NI (Code 1019) and Protein Control Serum NII (Code 1020).

Application: a test that quantifies low levels of C-reactive protein. It is not used for the immediate diagnosis of a heart attack, but as an indicator of cardiovascular risk, as it reflects low-grade inflammation in the blood vessels, associated with the process of atherosclerosis.

Monitoring these markers makes it possible not only to detect acute events such as heart attacks, but also to identify patients at greater risk of cardiovascular complications. In acute situations, interpreting the results of this profile together increases diagnostic assertiveness and contributes to faster and more reliable medical decisions.

For this reason, the cardiac profile is indispensable in emergency protocols and in preventive assessments of patients with a family history of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension or dyslipidemia.

Ebram offers a complete portfolio of reagents for the main laboratory profiles, guaranteeing standardized results, safety and specialized scientific support.
