New Veterinary Hematology Product Line Expands Opportunities for the Veterinary Sector
The Brazilian veterinary market is experiencing a period of strong growth. In recent years, the increasing humanization of animals, the demand for preventive care, and the growth of veterinary clinics and hospitals have transformed veterinary medicine into an increasingly structured and demanding sector.
This trend has a direct impact on the field of diagnostics. Laboratory tests now play an even more important role in animal health care, both in preventive evaluations and in the monitoring of chronic, infectious, inflammatory, and hematological diseases.
According to data from the Pet Brasil Institute (IPB), Brazil has one of the largest pet populations in the world, with more than 160 million pets. The growth of this market is also reflected in the increasing demand for veterinary laboratory tests and the expansion of the country’s diagnostic infrastructure.
Hematology plays a central role in this context. The complete blood count (CBC) is one of the most commonly ordered tests in routine veterinary practice and directly aids in the clinical evaluation of animals, contributing to the investigation of anemia, infections, immune system abnormalities, inflammatory processes, and various other clinical conditions.
In addition, studies published by organizations such as the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and scientific articles in the field of veterinary clinical pathology underscore the growth of preventive veterinary medicine and the need for rapid and reliable laboratory tests to support clinical decision-making.
It is in this context that Ebram is expanding its operations and introducing its new line of veterinary hematology products.
Higher Quality for an Evolving Market
Ebram's entry into the veterinary hematology sector responds to a growing market need: analyzers specifically designed for routine veterinary use, capable of serving everyone from veterinary clinics to laboratories specializing in animal health.
Ebram's new veterinary hematology analyzers are ideal for providing convenience in performing tests, quick turnaround on results, and features that help with routine monitoring.
The launch includes two models: the EB3000 VetCare and the EB5000 VetCare.
The EB3000 VetCare performs a 3-part white blood cell differential and supports various animal species that have been previously configured in the system. The device already includes 12 pre-registered species: cat, dog, rabbit, pig, horse, goat, cow, monkey, buffalo, camel, lion, and tiger. In addition, it allows for the configuration of 5 more user-customizable profiles. The device delivers results in approximately 1 minute, with a throughput of up to 60 samples per hour, using only 10 μL of whole blood sample.
In addition to requiring only a small sample, the device features a touchscreen, storage capacity for up to 50,000 results, histograms for white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets, real-time reagent monitoring, and a built-in printer.
Among the key features of the EB3000 VetCare are:

The EB5000 VetCare, on the other hand, is ideal for routines that require more comprehensive hematology tests, offering a 5-part white blood cell differential.
The device uses laser and flow cytometry methods for differential white blood cell analysis, as well as electrical impedance and colorimetric methods for other hematological parameters. The system also displays 2D scatter plots to aid in the evaluation of samples.
The EB5000 VetCare comes with 10 preconfigured species: dog, cat, horse, rat, mouse, rabbit, monkey, cow, pig, and sheep. The device also allows users to register new animal profiles as needed for routine care. With a capacity of up to 60 samples per hour, it offers automated analyses and features designed to support routine veterinary care.
